DNA decontamination spray

 

    Nucleic acid contamination, particularly in the form of aerosol-derived DNA and cross-reactive amplicons, remains a persistent challenge in molecular diagnostic workflows, compromising the specificity and reliability of sensitive techniques such as PCR. Conventional decontamination strategies, including UV irradiation and chemical disinfection, are often insufficient for complete nucleic acid degradation or lack broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy. Here, we provide a two-component DNA degradation reagent designed to address these limitations. The formulation achieves rapid and complete degradation of nucleic acid sequences while simultaneously inactivating a broad range of pathogens, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Its versatility enables application across diverse laboratory surfaces and consumables, making it a practical tool for contamination control in genomic testing, molecular diagnostics, and pathogen identification.
